What makes it different

Every wrong answer is explained on its own terms

Not one generic explanation, but why the option you picked is wrong. Then the correct answer, then each remaining option with its own separate reason — and the handbook passage the rule comes from. Here is a real question, taken apart.

Which lane is known as the Number 1 Lane?

  • The far left lane
  • The far right lane
  • CThe centre lane
  • DThe HOV lane, whichever side it is on
  1. 1

    The answer you picked

    BThe far right lane

  2. 2

    Why that answer is wrong

    Why this is wrong

Numbering starts from the left, so the far right lane has the highest number

  3. 3

    What was actually right

    AThe far left lane

  4. 4

    The rule behind it

The left, or fast, lane is called the Number 1 Lane. The lane to its right is the Number 2 Lane, followed by the Number 3 Lane, and so on.

  5. 5

The other options, each on its own terms

    • CThe centre lane's number depends on how many lanes there are
    • DThe numbering is positional and does not depend on lane type
  6. 6

    Where it comes from

    Handbook · Choosing a Lane

This is not a sample. All 500 questions are built this way, and every one of them names the handbook passage it comes from.

The handbook

Armenian and English, side by side

The DMV publishes the Driver Handbook in Armenian, and the app carries both versions — not a translation of the English, the real thing, with the English beside it when a term matters. Below is an extract from one section.

Topics

What you study

Questions are grouped by topic, and the groups are not the same size. Each card is as large as the part of the bank it holds, so you can see where the weight is before you start — and work on the topic that is actually giving you trouble.

Mock exam

Practise under the real rules

Timed, with nothing explained as you go. The result shows your score against the pass mark and which topics came out weak. Six shorter tests sit around it, for when you want one part rather than all of it.
